Cataloguer / Technical Services Librarian - (Position Filled - Dec 4, 2006)

The Phillips Collection, America's first museum of modern art, seeks a full-time, experienced cataloguer and technical services librarian. The library contains material that supports research on works of art in the museum's permanent collection and the history of the museum.

Duties:
The TSL plans, coordinates and carries out library's technical services in consultation with librarian; creates and manages a database for art museum library exchange program; oversees exchange program, including processing requests for individual publications; tracks activity with exchange partners, and acknowledges gifts or exchanges. Supervises, trains and evaluates graduate interns and assistants who assist with cataloguing and technical services and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution; coursework and experience with archives desirable with two years progressive cataloguing experience, preferably in an art museum library, including experience cataloguing in an automated environment required. Professional knowledge of the Library of Congress principles needed.
