Visual Resources Cataloguer

The Maclean Visual Resources Library at The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking a qualified candidate who will be responsible for accessioning, researching, and cataloging images. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons in locating images and cataloging/re-cataloging old images, both analog and digital. Responsible for accessioning images as well as assisting with the ongoing maintenance of digital image database. Researches, contributes to, and helps maintain online authority files. Assists faculty, students, Museum Education, and Curatorial staff in locating images.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE a Bachelor’s degree in art or art history with substantial relevant experience in an image collection, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Training and demonstrated experience in image cataloging and relational database maintenance. Must be proficient in Mac. Familiarity with digital photography and photo editing is desirable.
