Supervisory Archives SpecialistAs Supervisory Archives Specialist for the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Art (AAA), the incumbent is responsible for operational and planning aspects of all public access and reference service programs providing information and related research services regarding the collections to the public, professional and scholarly researchers, and Smithsonian staff. As the head of reference services, responds to inquiries either via the internet, phone or in person for document reproduction, interlibrary loan, oral history resources, staff assisted document searches, public access to original documents, consultation with scholars, permissions for publication and copyright, and general inquiries. Incumbent supervises a staff of 3-4 archives technicians, archives specialists, and volunteers. He/she develops strategies, and devises and implements policies to increase and enhance broad public awareness and use of AAA's unique collection. Analyzes and prepares statistical reports concerning information on use of collection materials, reasons for collections use, and categories of users in order to direct existing resources, project future needs, identify areas of interest for collection processing and cataloging priorities, and identify potential support groups or donors.To apply, contact: Office of Human Resources Smithsonian Institution P.O.
