Professional Bio
Larissa Garcia is associate professor and information literacy librarian at the University Libraries of Northern Illinois University. She serves as subject specialist for the School of Art and Design, the School of Theatre and Dance, and the School of Family and Consumer Sciences. She has a BA degree with a double major in English and French Studies from the University of Washington, an MA in English from Northern Illinois University, and an MLIS from Dominican University. Her research interests include information literacy for art and design disciplines and innovations in faculty and staff collaboration. Garcia also is deeply involved in her institution's affordable course materials initiative.
