2014 Worldwide Books Award for Publications

The 2014 Worldwide Books Award for Publications was presented to Maryly Snow at the 42nd Annual Conference held in Washington, D.C., May 1-5. The award recognizes outstanding publications in print by individual ARLIS/NA members in the fields of librarianship or visual resources curatorship, and the arts. By recognizing special achievement in these areas this award acknowledges and encourages scholarly publication by the ARLIS/NA membership.

2014 Melva J. Dwyer Award Announced

The 2014 Melva J. Dwyer Award recipient is Native Art of the Northwest Coast: A History of Changing Ideas, edited by Charlotte Townsend-Gault, Jennifer Dramer, and Ḳi-ḳe-in, and published by the University of British Columbia Press in 2013. The award was established in recognition of the contribution made to the field of art librarianship by Melva Dwyer, former head of the Fine Arts Library, University of British Columbia. It is given to the creators of exceptional reference or research tools relating to Canadian art and architecture. The award is administered by the Canadian Member-At-Large on the Executive Board who is also the Chair of ARLIS/NA Canada, and is adjudicated by a jury of three Canadian art information professionals. It was presented at the convocation of the 42nd Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
